ANSWERS
1/Harry Collier, Charlie Collier, Freddie Straight, and the Marquis de Mouzilly St Mars (who, incidentally presented the first trophy)
2/Singles which would have to achieve90 mpg and Multis which would have to achieve 75 mpg.
3/He was excluded for using a spark plug different from that specified on his entry form
4/He was disqualified for receiving outside assistance in replacing a chain--Guthrie denied the charge and was eventually re-instated.
5/1949.
6/1950--He led the seven lap Senior TT from start to finish.
7/1953---He fell off it at Quarter Bridge while leading the race.
8/1954--10.79 miles--Used for Sidecar and Lightweight capacity races.
9/EIGHT laps--Even so, the 100 mph lap was achieved by winner Bob McIntyre on a Gilera.
10/1959--Won by Bob McIntyre on a 500cc Norton. The 350cc Class was won by Alistair King on an A.J.S. (Honda also made their debut in the 125cc race and subsequently changed motorcycling for ever !!)
11/All TT races returned to the full length Mountain Circuit, Derek Minter did the "ton" on a Single Cylinder Norton,and.....you get a point if you pick one of these:- Honda won Manufacturers Prize, John Hartle won his first TT (the Junior) on an M.V.Agusta.
12/ Chris Vincent, passengered by J.Bliss------On A B.S.A Sidecar Combination.
13/ The Production Race---Three Classes, 750cc, 500cc and 250cc (John Hartle won the 750, Neil Kelly the 500, and eventual Multi-replica winner Bill Smith the 250)
